    Eps.38: Mr. Fix It

Sometimes the desire to help is a roadblock. You’re trying to help, but you’re hindering because of the way I process. You’re ready to go so fast and move so quickly, and even though it’s all great information, I still need a little time to process. I’m just not ready to go that fast yet.

    Eps 37 - Unexpected Blessings

"That was a moment where I couldn't identify... I had no clue in how to support you. Like I literally, I felt helpless. A hug was all I had, and it was the best hug. But that was rough cuz I was like, what else can I do? And I knew there was nothing I could do... Presence is powerful. So if you're wondering or if you're feeling helpless in your relationship, just know that presence matters."

    Eps. 36 - Imposter Syndrome

"Imposter syndrome river running through your head is really an exercise in humility. It's an exercise in transparency. And you got to think about where it's coming from, because usually it's not coming from your spouse. It's coming from your own expectations, or your own lived experience and your own insecurities. Like big time, because it exposed a lot of my insecurities."

    Eps. 35: Sitting in it

"Our spouse is not a problem to be fixed. Our spouse is a person. And spending all the time that you have with them trying to make them be who you want them to be is an exercise in futility. That's not going to work for you. The person has to want to change... You got to stop fussing about the thing that ain't the thing, and you got to start talking about what that thing costs you."

    Eps. 34: When infidelity isn’t the issue…

"I don't know about you, but I don't speak north, south, east, west. If the sun is not rising or setting, how am I supposed to know where it is that I'm supposed to be going? Landmarks, they don't miss. Like, when was the last time they ripped up a tree next to Taco Bell? No, the tree is going to be there, Taco Bell is going to be there. I need to know that I need to make a right at the Taco Bell."

  • Eps. 33: The other woman

    Eps. 33: The other woman

"One truth about being married to an athlete that people don't necessarily talk enough about is that you are literally living their career with them. And when you get married, the two shall become one. And so me watching you meander through your career way up until the time that you retired was an emotional roller coaster that I didn't know that I was signing up for."

  • Eps. 31: Toxic times

    Eps. 31: Toxic times

"Resentment will have you in a chokehold because it's essentially... I like to think of resentment as love with no place to go. It's like I have these expectations, I love you, and I need this thing from you and you're not giving it to me. My love doesn't have anywhere to go, I want to give it to you. And when your love doesn't have anywhere to go, you got maximum toxicity."

    Eps. 25: Breaking chains - Part 2 ⛓️‍💥

"For example, I learned that I have an anxious attachment style, and so when I feel like there's friction between us, I'm like, 'Baby, let's talk about it.' Like, I just really want to... She was ready to go, where I was avoidant. So when she wanted to attach, I would avoid. So you can only imagine how much friction that caused. And it's a learned behavior, for good or for bad."

    Eps. 22: No new friends…

"I think it's more so about making sure that you're transparent, less about you can't have no friends. Like, that's not how it is. Every time I pick up a new handful of acquaintances and friends and people that like actually stick around, when I pick them up I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I can't wait for you to meet my husband.' Cuz he's like my second half, so it's not a weird thing."

  • Eps. 20: Trigger words. How do you handle them when you hear ‘em?

Eps. 20: Trigger words. How do you handle them when you hear ‘em?

"The question is though, why is it a trigger? You got to understand why is it a trigger for you so that you can heal in that place and heal that thing so that you don't be popping off. In our relationship, what we try to do is one, be aware of those types of things, and then also just be intentional with the words that we use and the words that we choose."

Eps. 19: Life after the first kid. 🥴

“I went in the mirror and I saw how my stomach was… you had to help me get into the shower, put on the mesh underwear, all of that. But you made me feel so beautiful and so protected…and this is advice to fellas: you’ve got to love your lady when she's at a place where she cannot do it for herself. You have to love on her—not in a sexually intimate way, but making her feel beautiful, accepted, and that you understand what her body just went through.

Eps. 18: Why did I get married???

“I knew that I wanted to marry you because you gave me an experience that I had never had before, and I felt like it was coming from your heart. The thing that y'all don't know is that I had a list—and he was the opposite of everything on my list... He was none of those criterias. None of it.

So ladies, check your list. Pay attention to the person and not the list... He came in a whole different package, and it was the best decision that I could have made.”
